Shalom Nursery Limited is a charitable company limited by guarantee established by the Kingston Surbiton and District Synagogue which is one of its members. The Synagogue has underwritten the start up costs for the Nursery. It has also received financial support from Mr Benjamin Perl who has a reputation for having founded and supported many new Jewish schools in the UK

Its Chairman is Colin Green, a retired Solicitor who prior to his retirement was Group Commercial Director and Secretary of BT Group PLC. He is a trustee of Nightingale House and Chairman of Green Aid, both of which are registered charities. He is Chairman of the Hermes Group Pension Scheme.

Other Directors are Rachel Leventhall and Perry Gold.

Rachel is a qualified teacher with over 25 years experience in primary teaching. She lectures in Teaching and Learning at Roehampton University, as well as supporting trainee teachers from both Roehampton and Kingston Universities working in placement schools as part of the PGCE and Undergraduate programmes for Primary Teaching. She is an assessor and trainer for several Teacher Training Programmes and takes an advisory seat on the Primary Partnership Committee at Kingston University.

Perry is a Chartered Accountant and a senior manager in one of the Big Four international accounting firms. He is the Financial Officer of the Synagogue and he is a member of its Board of Management.

The Company has been established to run the nursery as an independent entity at arm’s length from the Synagogue.
